Well...I was at home watching some food channels and it seemed like all they were making was Italian. I haven't been out to eat in months so I decided to do a quick Google search for nearby Italian restaurants. Biba's in Braselton was just 5 miles from Flowery Branch. I have seen the restaurant for a couple of years and decided to come here and try it out. When I walked in, I was greeted and seated right away by the hostesses (which I have to add were very nice). No sooner did I sit down, I was greeted by Katherine and handed a menu and was asked what I would like to drink. She came back and asked if I was ready to order, which I wasn't being my first time here and needed a couple of more mins. She had no problem and gave me ample time to soak in the menu. She returned and I gave her my order. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. She also asked what kind of dressing I would like on my salad; and I paused for a second and she recommended their house, and I accepted. Salad and rolls came out quick. The dressing she recommended was excellent. My main course arrived just in time (which I like to have time to eat my salad and bread) before my dinner came out. The portion was very generous and the meatballs (which I asked for 2 extra) were bigger than expected, and very good! I ate as much as I could and I could only stuff down 2 meatballs, which was fine by me, because the other 2 came home with me and my generous portion of leftovers to make another meal for later! Being Italian and from NY, I say food and atmosphere, I give 4 Stars. The service and the very pleasant server Katherine (whom by the had a great sense of humor and said I was daring to come eat Italian in a white t-shirt) puts it to 5 Stars! Grazie!

I do not know about the other locations, but this location gives you big portions. The food is not always great, but if you are starving this is the place to go to get full. I ordered the Biba's (homemade) Stromboli and it was huge! You also get garlic rolls. Those are delicious but sometimes they under cook them. The Stromboli was delicious this time!!!

Nice and cozy inside. At lunch no slices but affordable personal size pizza. 5 beers on draft at $2.75. Nice and cold! Pizza was fine, just wish they had slices, especially at lunch.

Place is pretty good for a neighborhood Italian. Service is adequate and the food seems to be prepared fresh. I always get the tortellini which is very good. It's rich and heavy but that's what I like. Their garlic rolls are way better than provinos and I love the house vinaigrette.

Biba's is basically the neighborhood pizza place around here. It takes on the same vibe, and taste! Once you walk in, the restaurant is homey, with friendly waitresses and hosts to greet you. Never have I had a bad time here with my family. It is a place we will keep on visiting!

Really enjoyed our first experience here. Kids got fabulous pizza. Wife got eggplant parm and I did the Alfredo. We're going back soon!

Tried something new tonight and had the Chicken Dorthea. Good, but very rich. I think I would have enjoyed it more if it wasn't swimming in the wine sauce. Personal opinion though. ( I liked it better after taking most of it home and warming it up with no sauce.) Great service as usual! All in all great!

My wife and I just had dinner there, and all I can say is I won't be back. I can generally assess an Italian restaurant based on the red sauce. In this case the red sauce was just south of Ragu. Lacking flavor of any sort, it simply ruined any entree in its way. This was the case with my chicken parm and my wife's lasagna. As many have said, the rolls are good but everything goes downhill from there. With that being said I am basing my rating on two entrees, so other entrees could be better. Alas, I will never know since I won't be spending $40 for a dinner highlight of rolls.

The sauce is just awful Italian restaurants must have good sauce. And they charge you for changing sauce from red, to marinara, to meat. Unbelievable. They are all equally bad. The tortellini in Alfredo was decent but too much cheese. Please give us Italian sauce.

Great service! The staff was attentive and very friendly. They knew the menu well and made some great recommendations. The portions were generous and cooked perfectly. I left full and happy :)

To start off I absolutely love this restraint. I can eat their every day and not get tired of it. They have rolls that are amazing and I can't get enough of them. Over the years they have become more of a special event restraint which is good and bad. Over all, this is the best pizza place you will ever go to.

My housemate and I came here for dinner one night per my request because I had an unusual craving for lasagna and BiBa's is the only restaurant I'll order it from. An old college friend of mine introduced me to BiBa's and we'd occasionally go to the one in Gainesville, which is now closed. *sadface* Anyway, the lasagna recipe was just as I had remembered - saucy, cheesy, meaty, and no fillers (aka veggies), just the way I like! The housemate got the chicken parmesan and the portion size was huge, which made for a fantastic lunch the following day. The garlic knots were also as I remembered but each basket got increasingly buttery/greasy, which is not a good thing in my books. The salad was pretty exceptional (and this is coming from a gal who doesn't normally eat salad). The lettuce and cucumbers were fresh and crisp; the tomatoes were juicy, and the pepperoncini were the right blend of sour, sweet, with a hint of heat.

Tortellini Bolognese was a featured special, but should be added as a regular menu item. This dish was fantastic! Ricotta tortellini in a Marsala meat sauce with bacon and mushrooms. Absolutely delicious! They also have the freshest salads, none of the pre-bagged mix. Biba's is my favorite Italian place. Yum!

Food excellent, but how do you run out of rolls on a Friday night at 830? Not prepared? Was told it would be over 45 minutes on some of the menu items!!! I have never had these kind of issues here, must be new management or supervision. The only thing that saved the night is the great attitude of our waitress Kelly!

The crust on their pizza is the best I've ever had! Everything I've had is great but our fav is a large works pizza & side salads w/ house dressing. The house dressing is a balsamic vinaigrette - it's to die for.

The host had us seated quickly! We were greeted by our server Kathryn who was so sweet and she returned with our drinks quickly! The kitchen on the other had sent out our salads wrong and my dish was as well I ended up waiting an additional 15 min for my food while everyone else finished. Everything s;eemed great until we got home and my children who had the pizza and spaghetti started throwing up....very strange!! They are in great health...so I called the manager, Adam, and all he said was, "oh, I'm sorry...maybe what they had didnt agree with them." We enjoy italian style cooking at least 3 times a week with no signs of rejections....then he said have a good night! So strange....I work in a restuarant ant and if we receive notification of this nature we get their name and number and send them something to get them back in the door..we will NOT be returning to eat....it was my first time there...on a side note I agree with the above note about the rolls...VERY flavorless and covered in oil..not impressed..except with Kathryn!!!

Coming from the East Coast I find it very difficult to find good Italian food. I had high hopes for Bi Ba's. My wife and I had lunch today. We started out with a Calamari appetizer, which was very good. We then decided to share both a small pizza and spaghetti and meatballs. The pizza was good, not great, but better than most other places we have tried. The spaghetti was your typical pizzeria pasta. The meatballs were horrid!! I might try then again if I get a coupon but will stay away from anything with meatballs in it.

I live very close to BiBa's so I consider it my local "utility Italian", which means I can dip in quick for lunch to get "much better than fast food" dishes at just barely above a fast food price. They execute this perfectly. The Chicken Parm is my go to choice. The portion is nicely sized, and so far I have never gotten one where the pasta has left a watery puddle, which is a dealbreaker for me. The big portion combined with the tasty garlic rolls makes this dish a great bargain. I've also tried the Chicken Francesca, which is listed as: "Egg battered boneless breast of chicken sauteed with lemon butter and white wine (over pasta)". This one will make your lips pucker. The combination of lemon and white wine results in a tart taste that is different and interesting, and I am glad I made the leap once, but probably won't get it as often as my good ol predictable Chicken Parm. Although not specifically on the lunch menu, I have also tried the 9" pizza, sticking to tried and true combo of cheese and pepperoni. Once again this is a great bargain because I am pretty sure that this 9" was more like a 12"! I have had it three times and each was terrific, particularly the crust which is not rubbery or cardboardy at all, which seems to be where a lot of places get it wrong. On one occasion I did get a pie where the preparer might have gotten a little overzealous with the cheese, but that's okay, I made it work. Rather have too much than too little. Pro-Tip: if you order the personal size, ask for them to cut it into 8 slices instead of 4. It will be much more manageable that way. Over about 7 visits so far I have had several different servers who have ranged from good to great. They are quick to top off your drink, and check back with you just enough to let you know they have not forgotten you, but not so much as to make you feel rushed or to be overly attentive. The balance is right. BiBa's works great for me since I visit them for a very specific application: quick, inexpensive, consistent lunches composed of simple staples of the Italian menu. Hopefully at some point I can visit for dinner and try some of the more complex fare.

Against my better judgement I was talked into a return visit by my son. Short story: big mistake. Linguine with pesto was in edible. The only time in my life I returned a dinner. You are better off going hungry!

My husband and I have been going here since it opened, and we love it! Quite frankly I am surprised BiBas has any negative reviews! We have always enjoyed the service and food. Wait staff is always prompt and friendly. Usually I get the crab ravioli or stuffed shells, and hubs gets shrimp scampi. We get coupons in the mail for half off entrees, so that helps too! No complaints.

My wife and I ate here for dinner the first time today. We were greeted promptly at the door by the hostess who pointed us to the specials of the evening. The restaurant is nicely decorated with it's health score of 95 easily visible from the foyer. The server assisted us with our drink order promptly as well. The salads were good, but the rolls were not hot out of the oven and had more of a flavorless oily topping than a garlic butter topping. My wife had the crab ravioli in vodka sauce special. The sauce seemed a bit burnt or separated while the ravioli itself was average. I had the Veal Parmesan - Unfortunately, the veal was tough and overcooked. Not at all what I would expect for Veal. In all fairness, we did not share our feelings about the food with the server when she asked. We just preferred to eat and go. From this first impression, we won't go back, so that's why I offered a one star. We would try the other local chain Italian at Hamilton Mill or just head to the Mall for a national chain. Sorry Flowery Branch!

This is a fairly new location for this Italian chain. The server was very friendly and kept us informed while we waited for our order. The eggplant parm sub was enormous, and the kids enjoyed the pizza. The owner checked in to say hello as well. Overall, it was a good experience, and we will be back.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
